Training a Tang

can I train a yellow tang to eat nori? if so how.. I'm afraid that he isn't getting enough food.

Didnt have to train mine shes anpig eats anything from live brine frozen mysis pieces of shrimp and tears the nori off the clip

I mean, what does he eat already? Maybe find a way of mixing it with that food, or but it on his favorite grazing rock or something like that. The addition of garlic may help too as an appetite stimulant.

well my lfs feeds frozen but for this week i am feeding my tank flasks. which he is eating but just a tiny bit. ill try to rip some up and throw it in with it and see what happens. but for right now he is still rather shy.

Other tangs tearing in to it works like a charm. In time it will discover nori. Red nori is the most enticing for tangs, IMO. They cannot turn down ocean nutrition red nori.
