Hey guys

So I woke up this morning and found a white patch on my tricolor frag... it’s been in the tank for 2 months roughly. It started growing and encrusting after 2-3 weeks, with only PE at night. I think something irritates it in the day time but I still haven’t found out what ....

It showed zero signs of stress and noting has been changed on tank. To be honest I don’t have parameters except for 0 nitrates, and salinity 1.25 - but I’ve been consistent with maintenance and water changes, no lack there.

Is this going to be a goner? Is it fading? Dying?

Sorry if it’s not much info. It literally happened overnight.

Looks like your getting RTN better put some super glue on it to stop it from spreading... Something is making it unhappy!

I do not dip the corals when I get them. The LFS I get them from dips it already and their display has a ton of healthy corals so I didn’t think to :/

Reading about RTN and it’s brutal. I’ll try super glue.

It seems I’m not ready to take on such demanding SPS ;Sorry

Try the super glue. If the RTN starts spreading closer to the branch, I would cut the branch with about half an inch of space between healthy tissue and the RTN. Then glue it to another frag plug or rock.

I had this randomly happen to one of my bonsai frags once. I did what I described above, and it is still alive. I didn’t change anything afterwards.

I would still hit the SPS with a Bayer dip just in case. You can't trust anyone, even if they have the best tank in town... Its brutal in this hobby with Flatworm and all the pest...

I actually did the super glue method and it stopped spreading. I can see some growth in it now , and it stoped fading. There’s a little blob of glue by the base but at least it’s not fading it anymore lol
