Trident Calibration Error

For me, i had more issues the other month. What worked was completely disassembling the trident. then creating pressure in each tubing line by putting an empty syringe around the tube end and blasting air though it. This cleared blockage in the line and fixed my trident.

You should do some research before attempting the above and check out some resources online, it seems daunting but this worked for me and wasn’t too bad.

Going to try this. Ran fine for a few months then a couple days ago all the readings went completely wonky. It runs normal testing without error but way off all three parameters readings. Getting the “Test A Fail” again on every calibration attempt. Just wasting reagent.

Also may just get the diy service kit because I’ve never sent it in or replaced anything and the units 2 1/2 years old.

I do genuinely enjoy my trident and want to keep it. Ran consistently for the most part without a lot of issue until recently. AquaWiz seems like a great replacement option in theory, but the price just seems ridiculous to me.

Did you ever figure this out? My unit is testing but fails calibration using tank water so it’s not a line clog.

I’ve tried rebooting, priming. Even directions Neptune gave me and when they finally responded they were talking NP versus ACM and rep is out remainder of the week.

So frustrated.

What is your tank alkalinity at? The input.t doesn’t specify it but it doesn’t allow calibration below a certain number. I can’t remember what it is but it might be below 7.8 DKH.

So i actually have 2 tridents and having same issue. One the alk is 8.2. Other was around that but bc of trident controlled dosing I turned it off for fear it was going too high and it went to 6.9 so I turned back on the doser.

I’ve always run my alks in the low to mid 8s

Take the lid off the A bottle and put the needle directly in with no lid. make sure it’s slightly slanted. Some times, when we switch bottles, the tubing that fits through the top hole in the lid gets a little wonky and doesn’t allow the syphon. I stopped putting on the lids on the bottles because of this. Once you do that, prime all the lines again and reset them. Then calibrate. Should work.

Don't tighten the lids completely down. Since the intake tube is so small, there is a risk of creating a vacuum lock and not allowing the fluid to be drawn up if it can't equalize.

How old is the unit? May need to send it in to swap it out with their service program.

One was swapped out via service July 2025.

Other I just got from a buyout so can not speak to that one directly.

I just traded one in on a rebuilt unit and it did the same thing. I also was using the ABC Reagent on the new one after the reagent that came with it was gone and the next day test A fail. I cleared the error and put Neptune Reagent back in and the test went through. Whether that was a coincidence or not I'm not sure. I have bought so many rebuilt units over the years I wish their was a better option.

I’ve been working with Neptune. 1 trident I got to work by calibrating with drawer open.

Other one still troubleshooting. I have a feeling they are going to have me send that one back in.
