Trident issues

So I just got the trident been using it a few days has anyone noticed it does the testing twice before actually giving a reading? I literally set this up 2 days ago and I’m already at 87% left on my alk reagents.

If you just set up the Trident, or installed the newest firmware update that was released today, the Trident will go through an initialization process. The firmware release notes include this statement:

"After updating the Trident firmware, the Trident will restart and go through an initialization process; the Trident tile will display INITIALIZING during this process. The first set of Alk/Ca/Mg tests performed after the Trident firmware update will take roughly twice as long (30-40 minutes); this is normal and expected to occur after a Trident module firmware update. Subsequent tests should take the usual amount of time (15-20 minutes)."

Yes I did the update and it did do that but this morning when it did the alk test it cycled through it twice. Before the test it calculated I had 102 test left and now I only have 100. I have been noticing it doing the tests twice and only giving one reading.

If your tests are very long like this it is typically due to the Trident getting unexpected results that are different than the last test,- so it is making sure they are correct. This can occur due for a couple of different reasons:

One reason is the possibility of additive getting pulled into the sample tube during testing. Another reason could be due to the possibility of micro-bubbles being introduced to the sample line. It's also possible, that there is a kink/restriction in the sample or reagent lines causing an inconsistent delivery of the liquids. Finally, it's possible you could be experiencing fairly large swings.

So, double check your sample line placement, make sure it isn't pulling sample near additive or where microbubbles could be introduced.

Double check there is not restriction on the sample line- like going around a tight corner.

Try running a test with the reagent drawer open instead of closed.

If after doing all those things you are still getting double tests, then please reach out to our support team to investigate further.
