I recently added a niger trigger and a potters angel to my 75 gallon tank. they have been fine together for about 3 weeks then all of the sudden the trigger has been bullying the angel and nipping all of its fins. Are potters not good with triggers? Are there any angels that would work with a niger or did i just get a mean one?

I think it's the other way around. Triggers can be mean, even bite people. You can Google trigger bites and pics will show up. They will attack divers who dive on the reef.
I would suggest moving one if them. He will stress out the angel til it gets sick and dies.

Is there a reason he is only going for the angel? There is a damsel in there too and he leaves him alone

it will only get worse as the fish grows. your tank is too small for a trigger.

The potter had not been eating, is it possible he was just not doing well and the trigger attacked the weak fish? The aggression just came out of nowhere and I am watching him swim with the damsel right now.

The angel ate the first day I got it and the day before it died, both times on flakes. It has been a couple weeks and I tried every food that an angel might eat.

I would believe being from being hounded by the trigger probably caused it not to wanna eat.
Dames can be little terrors too. You have an aggressive tank. Lol

yeah I was hoping I could put an angel in but I was wrong. Do you have any recommendations for any fish that would be fine with those two?

I figured he would outgrow this tank, I have plans for a 300 gallon tank once my house is complete. Not a fan of eels but thought about dwarf lion or maybe a leaf fish.

Thanks for all the help. I love triggers but they make it hard to find good tank mates.
