Trigger Platinum Sumps: Long Term Reviews

I have the platinum 39 love the sump hate the roller bad design constantly some kind of issue with it now the sensors failed and switched to timer but not sure thats working either. And support is horrible they just leave you hanging

Reviving an old thread to help others before they spend a lot of money even on a used one. I have a Platinum 34 that I bought 3 years ago and it has been nothing but problems. First issue was float failure which Trigger Systems acknowledged and said would be fixed by the V2 controller and optical sensors. I bought the V2 controller a little over a year ago and that has failed as well. Having issues with the main board staying powered on. Reverted back to the gen 1 controller and aftermarket floats. Expecting to regularly replace float switches to keep the system running. Another issue is the fleece rolls changed 2 years ago to a reduced size and are often out of stock. Customer service is absolutely terrible and does not respond. I would strongly recommend not buying a Trigger Systems roller sump as you will have a problem eventually and then will not be able to get manufacturer support.

The other thing I’m just trying to figure out is the pros and cons of getting a sump with a built in roller (like this) or figuring out how to install a separate roller like the reef factory smart roller into a preexisting sump
Go with a separate roller. I have the platinum 39 and it is a total waste of money nothing but problems now my motor **** the bed. And the worst part is there support sucks.Great idea horrible design there is not one part of the roller system that there is not a failure with.

Absolutely hated mine. The motor broke. Paid for the upgraded V2. Got sent the wrong parts. Customer service never sent me the correct parts and abandoned me. Totally garbage company to deal with
