I am looking to purchase the ruby 36 for my 90 gallon tank. Can anyone tell me how hard it is to access the filter socks with the protein skimmer in place? I plan on using a reef octopus 150int which the sump can accommodate, but it looks like accessing the filter socks will be difficult. My stand is,against the wall and doesn't have a side door so access would be through the front.

I have an Emerald 34, which is similar. I usually remove my skimmer cup to provide additional access to the socks but otherwise it is not difficult. I am pretty happy with my sump.

Have the trigger 34 sapphire with regal 150 -Int and it's tad challenging but do able I'm a newbie. If had the room and was starting over I would have gone with the 39 ;-). I took cup off skimmer last time and agree much easier lol.

its not to bad, i just take the cone off my skimmer and its easily done, just make sure there are no power centers behind it.
