So the Trigger roller mat has been out of stock on BRS for at least 7 months. Other places seem to be sold out, too. One place has it marked down 66%. Is an upgrade coming or should I jump on that huge sale? Nothing on their website indicates a new version or discontinuation.

Well, I took a shot. bestwatersfilters is have a crazy sale on Trigger stuff. They look like they don’t sell aquarium supplies normally. So maybe liquidating stock they have for some reason? We’ll see…their sumps are like 75% off.

Pretty sure this was a scam of some sort. I never got a confirmation email. Luckily I paid through paypal. I contacted them & they said the product is not available, despite still being on the website. Now my payment is locked up in some pending state potentially for another month. If they don’t cancel it or refund me I’ll have to submit a complaint. Such a pain.

I would be careful, as being out of stock that long leads me to believe they are discontinuing it. As for the other place having them on sale, make sure they actually do and that it is reputable. I wanted an Adaptive Reef Control cabinet, out of stock everywhere except one place. The website said it would ship the next day. I called them and was told yes, it would ship in one day. I ordered and paid for it on Jan 13, 2026. I have not received a tracking number or any shipping confirmation. I sent emails, no response. I called multiple times, no answer. I reached someone, and they said the person who handles that would call me back. That was Feb 2, 2026. Aquarium Specialty. I will wait a few more days and then file a dispute with PayPal.

Yeah, that stinks. My issue was resolved. It was some sort of BS, but I don’t know the scam. In either case, my CC was never actually charged.

BRS told me Trigger had a warehouse fire at some point recently. So maybe they lost stock? BRS had no other explanation for why it has been out of stock for 8+ months (as well as being on sale at BRS despite no stock).

Yeah, that stinks. My issue was resolved. It was some sort of BS, but I don’t know the scam. In either case, my CC was never actually charged.

BRS told me Trigger had a warehouse fire at some point recently. So maybe they lost stock? BRS had no other explanation for why it has been out of stock for 8+ months (as well as being on sale at BRS despite no stock).
I have never dealt with Aquarium Speciality before. A red flag should have gone up about why they had it in stock when none of the others did. And oh yes, they charged my card. I have gotten spoiled dealing with good companies all the time, so I guess I let my guard down. Since I am ******** about that one store, I will brag on another. I ordered something from CoralView during one of their sales. When I was checking out, I didn't have a chance to enter the discount code. I emailed customer service about the issue. The first thing the next morning, I got an email saying they were sorry that happened and that the balance had been refunded.

Call out the good ones & the bad ones. It’s all we can really do.
