Hi guys and girls, so I started dosing triton about a month or two ago and my alk is stable at 7.3 but I would like it at about 8. The thing is my mag and cal are ok at 460 and 1350, as you have to dose it in equal amounts am I going to cause any cal and mag spikes if I dose extra or they will balance out eventually. I have quite few corals most of them are lps but I have few acros and montis and I don't want to kill them obviously. What should I do to get my alk to 8? Thanks

Should be fine just dosing more alk until you reach your target .

You have several options.

1. Dose more of the alk part, or just baking soda, to boost alkalinity to where you want, then resume close to 1:1 dosing.

2. Dose more of both for a while to raise the alkalinity. The calcium will only rise by about 6 ppm. Then back off to an alkalinity-stabilizing dose of both.
