Trouble with Duncan?

Is this Duncan poop or maybe something else? Released this about 20 hours ago ( first photo) and hasn’t been out since. (2nd photo) Can they take awhile after expelling like this? Thx for input

I see that a lot on other corals - not just duncans. Usually after I've fed Reef Roids, plankton or other coral supplements. It usually disappears in short order.

That looks a lot like vermetid snail slime. Are you sure the duncan is expelling it?

I believe it is a defense mechanism when something is agitating it or stressed. I’ve seen shrimp pull mouths open and corals digest slime to discourage any further aggravation.

Thx for the comments. The Duncan is slowly returning to normal. It does now have 2 (maybe 3 new “buds”.
