Got me some fire! Love this piece! 24k ultra torch.. and tons of other stuff! I need to get some photos.. trader some corals for a lid I custom built for a large tank..

Haven’t had much time with the tank as I’ve been busy building everyone and their mother a lid.. did manage to upgrade my skimmer to a sicce pump and mesh modded the impeller and it’s 3 times the skimmer it used to be! I love going back in time to what worked then! It works today and much better than store bought stuff..

It’s much better than a needle wheel but manufactures never really sold it because they require Maintence.. you have to replace the mesh every 6 months or so.. people would be like skimmer sucks it broke in a couple months I want my money back haha!!! They would get a bad name so they compromised with needle wheels which work good but I’d say about 60% of what mesh can do… I have a curve 5 I picked up for $40 and it will blow away top of the line skimmers now with the new pump and mesh impeller.. my skimmer used to have the valve on the 1 and now I got it open to 3 and over 50% of the body is millions of tiny bubbles! I do need to make a bigger silencer now thou lol.. sounds like a vacuum haha!

Banged out a quick acrylic radion holder for my tank while I await the light to come Friday! Couldn’t justify a $125 on a bracket I can make from scrap lol.. fully adjustable from 4”-10” high.

That’s awesome that you can just make something like that! This is why I love the experienced reefers. They just Tank matters into their own hands

Thank you man! I used to be a mod on here years ago and ran the diy forum etc.. I have some crazy builds in there! Some of the first cone skimmers and one of the first if not the first drop down tank in the states..

I'm digging the mesh wheel for the skimmer and all the DIY. I wish I had the skills and equipment to do that. That Radion mount looks sleek too!

What would be nice is if the mesh wheels require maintenance, have a couple spare impellers so you could make a batch of them and swap them out when you clean the skimmer to minimize downtime.

Only takes a couple minutes to change the mesh.. I mean having a spare isn’t a big deal just a few extra bucks any more..

A few of my Acros are taking off with some hair algae haha! The hair is finally receding so well see what happens next! Should have never added more rock.. rrrrrr.
