I am looking for some good starter sps ideas. I have 2 birdsnest one green and one purple. I put them in about a month ago and they seam to do doing well. I'm looking for some new opptions/ideas. I would like to try one of each of the following. A plaiting coral, a shelfing coral and a branching coral. I am looking for take rent corals that don't cost a fortune.

Sounds like your birdsnest are doing good. What are your parameters? I would suggest a Monti Cap, a Green Slimer and Maybe a Red Planet. That would cover all three. Montipora Digitata is also a nice branching coral that grows fast, some are quite colorful.

Not sure which one is a problem. Red Planet plates and it's not too demanding and grows well. Maybe too well, the can grow fast and quite large.

Try Cyphastrea as its an in between LPS and SPS, Montipora, and green pavona.

I got some mantis and they are doing great. Growing like crazy I had a bad cyano bacteria bloom and it took out my business but I finally got it under control a couple months ago.
