So I’m looking at the Waterbox 220.6. And i kind of want to run Radion XR30s on the tank. It will be a mix reef but I most definitely want to do sps mainly around the top of my rock structure.

Now going to BRS website they have a recommended spread of 24x24. Meaning for a 6x2 tank I’d need three. But watching their BRSTV investigates Is need roughly 5.

If I split the different and went with 4 would that produce what I need? And at 4 I’m at $3359.96 would it be more worth it to run two Orphek and save $1100

4 years ago, I added 3 Visparspectra for 450 bucks.
Still running like new today.
Sorry, I doubt that really helps.
Any light in the correct spectrum and of sufficient intensity will grow any corals.

Id say 4 is what I would do probably run them vertically. You could always start with three and add another if you think its not enough. I have a nuvo sr120 that I did on a budget 6'x2' with a sump in the back because its a aio. And three radions barley cuts it, 2 of them are xr15's though. Ive also got a 220 Marineland and can tell you 3 wouldn't be enough without supplemental t5's or reef brights. It would work just not ideal par. Have you thought of trying a hybrid system?

I’m currently using a hybrid t5 LED on my current reef. And I do like it but I also hate replacing bulbs. If possible I want to get away from bulb replacement. But that’s going to depend if I can get what I need out of straight LEDs
