Pencil urchins are cool looking but from what I’ve read they mainly eat coralline so you may not be getting the help you’re looking for out of it
Well I do have various Snails and Hermits also Not sure what is eating it but something is lol

I've actually been doing that the last 2 nights I've been dosing it into my sump after I manually pulled some and sucked it out it's very short and tuff to pull off the rocks
I was in a similar situation as you at one point. I did something along the same lines during a water change by pulling rock and using a diluted hydroxide and rodi mix. I hit the rock with the mist, waited 30 seconds and used a brush to scrub as much GHA as possible and then dunked the rocks in some of the old saltwater to clear the debris before discarding it.
It worked well enough that I did this once and didn't have to ever again.

I'm trying to get as much off as I can without pulling all the rocks out but the ones on top definitely will be getting that treatment soon but small chunks are falling off so I think I'm going in the right direction

sounds like a good plan.
Typically the top-line rocks are the worst affected by GHA so once you sort them you'll be back on top
