Finally got one after years of not doing so in fear of it eating a fish. Read opposing views on the subject and decided to take a chance. Good news, multiple fish, multiple times ran into it with no ill effects. But I have a question about how deep it should be. Almost impossible to bury as it is a soft gooey mess of an animal and digging in sand is not an easy task. I was told it will bury itself if not happy. It seems to like to be about an inch out of the sand; more so at night than during the day. Is that normal? Most pictures I see of them, just the head is out. Here it is...

Beautiful specimen! I have three currently. They will tend to come out at night to feed, but you can break that cycle by feeding it during the day, when it happens to be out. I've noticed that they are more than likely going to stay out when food is most abundant.

Very nice! I have two and they are are out all day. Feeding is easy. They take brine shrimp and mysis that they grab. As for them bothering fish, that is a not an issue.
