Hey guys, about to pull the trigger on one of these but want to really know pros and cons of this item (since it's $$ for a ATO) . anyways feel free to comment please. i want to know ins and outs of this item. thanks!

I love my Tunze Osmolator. I have been running mine for over a year now. I have yet to have any issues with it. You can get a second pump and with some slight modifications, you can turn it in to a constant waterchange device. I would buy another Osmolator for my other tanks if they needed a new ATO. I highly recommend to anyone. I have yet to find a con besides the loud alarm that sounds when your sump is to full.

Literally a plug-n-play piece of equipment.

Loved mine too..only con is you must clean the sensor well before use or it will not work. Heavy micro bubbles will also throw off sensor ..

Over all it was a great product ..very fail safe once set up

I've never had to do that for mine. Maybe yours was just a little dirty when you got it for some reason.

thanks guys. i'm gonna go with tunze. anyone know anyone or used the avast marine ATO?

Love mine!!! Clean the sensor with a toothbrush every few months.

Do you have a sump?
If so look for the one with the bracket holder for the sensors. The magnet holder keeps the overflow sensor too close to the top off sensor. So when you turn of you return pumps and the sump begins to fill it won't trip the alarm.

The magnet holder works great for non-sump applications.

Mine came with 2 sensor magent holders. One that could hold both and one that could hold just the overflow sensor.

That works.
