Question, I have a 5017 and the optic sensor is toast. What I noticed is the sensor wire is hard wired into the controller. Let me know my options. Also when in feed mode the my optic sensor is underwater; could that be the issue of the early failure?

Thanks
Tom

you’ll have to open up the control module, remove the old sensor wiring and wire in a new optical sensor….
i actually need to do the same here soon.

have 3 units on 3 tanks…
my main system uses a bunch of kalk in the ato,
this is what causes the hazing over the sensor for me and it’s the only 5017 i currently have issues with.
you can only clean them up for so long before you have to actually replace the sensor..

Yes, anything made after July 2015 the sensor has a plug.

Before July 2015, not repairable
July 2015-Oct 2019, repairable but needs to come in for upgrades
Oct 2019- Nov 2024 (end of production) replacement is DIY

Thank you. I’ll just order the new sensor. I appreciate the comments 🤙🏼
