Hi All,

My Tunze 5107 ATO has started to continually drip at a pretty good rate once it shuts off. It's almost like it's creating a vacuum. I have to pull the pump out of the water to stop the dripping.

The dripping is making the water rise above the optical eye and the float switch.

Any ideas?

The unit is only a couple of months old.

It could be creating a siphon. make sure the level of water in your ATO is lower than the height of the water in the sump. Otherwise, it can keep siphoning out until the height of the water in the ATO is the same as the water in the sump. Also, make sure the ATO outlet isn't submerged, or it can back siphon after topping off as well.

I would create a dip in the hose right before it goes into the sump to prevent a siphon. Keep the end above the waterline (return pump off) to prevent back siphon.
