Howdy,

I have some questions

My skimmer used to pull some serious gunk and it's not any longer. There was a time where I had to take the skimmer offline to combat low nitrates but now since I've added several fish and my tank has matured I'm trying to skim serious gunk again.

I've not adjusted the waterline of the skimmer just the air intake. I've tried all adjustments of the air intake but the cup still completely fills with water by the end of the day. The skimmer has been broken in as the neck has gunk.

Would I need to raise or lower the entire skimmer to produce better gunk?

Could the pump need to be seriously cleaned ?

Thanks

I would remove it and clean it completely. Dial down the air intake for a couple days.

Are you dosing the tank? Using medications?

I have had 2 Tunze without issue.

I will take an image when lights come on. I use kalk a lot so I doubt that is it.
I tend to think it's the air intake. Slowly make tiny adjustments and dial it down and wait a couple hours before making another adjustment. Raise the skimmer a little higher as well. Do you use an ATO?

I would remove every thing in that compart and give all equipment a through rinsing in FW and raise the skimmer.
