Just wondering if anyone else has had issues with Tunze 9004 skimmer not producing bubbles when you turn it back on after cleaning the cup? I’m going to start leaving it on when I clean the cup because every time I turn it off I have a heck of a time getting it to produce bubbles when I turn it back on. End up having to jiggle it around and eventually it gets the air out or whatever is happening and then immediately starts to foam. Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue? I’m annoyed I spent the extra money on a Tunze so I could avoid this type of difficulty.

Two things:
1. When you take the cup off, does the silencer fall in the water? It could be getting water in the air intake
2. I just leave mine on when I take the cup off. Unlike many other skimmers, it won’t dump a bunch of crud back into your tank so it’s not hurting anything.

No the silencer is on outside of tank. Thanks I will try just leaving it on when I clean it. Do you get a lot of micro bubbles when you do that?
