Looking for other Tunze 9410 skimmer users!

How deep do you have your water depth around your skimmer?

My original impeller corroded and split. The original impeller is no longer available and has been replaced with a newer, less output model impeller. I was told by Tunze that the original impeller was too strong anyhow and people still had to throttle back the air intake when the skimmer was designed not to have to do this...i also had to throttle back air intake, but used it to either skim dry or wet. Supposedly the new impeller allows the air intake to be fully open all the time. Well, I'm going on 3 weeks and yet to empty my skimmer cup with this new impeller and i know my nutrients are crazy right now! Plus the outflow filter sock is catching much more debri than previously... thinking this may not be skimming as well any longer since so much more is getting past the skimming now! It's skimming is so less powerful now with less water output as well... which has been nice since it was always a really noisy skimmer. Thinking maybe i have my skimmer depth to shallow as well... maybe deeper might increase the skimming???

Thanks, I'm going to do it a little deeper and see if that helps.

I have 2, a standard and a dc.
Dc is in 6.5" of water.
The standard is in 6".
The dc is silent.
The standard is louder for sure.
Im not sure how old the standard is as I bought it used.
At 6.5" I must leave the screw open.
Raising it to 6" will give it more adjustment as you can close the screw.
