Are the plastic clamps on the bottom of the outside magnet supposed to slide against the glass? I assumed there would be felt here? Thanks!

Mine does. I suppose you could put a thin glass cloth under it. I've done that before on other glass cleaner. Haven't had an issue though in scratching, but that's something I want to very careful, so thanks for the question.
 
I asked tunze directly and they stated the plastic was soft. I still don’t like it and took them off. You can still use the foam thing without them.
