Try squeezing the two halves together front to back, then give it some time, usually within 2 weeks the bubbles will be much less of gone. You should not have to take it apart, it would only be if it was previously disassembled, a part could be in the wrong slot and cause it to not close all the way.

I'd try to squeeze the two halves and see if there's any gaps that aren't fully seated. That's happened after cleaning mine.

Reviving this post lol how's it working after 4 years? I'm going to do a 75 gallon sumpless build and want the Comline doc 9012 DC to be my only filtration... I have a osmolator so water level won't be a problem, does this hold up for years? Also would it work for a rimmed tank, I'm going with a standard Marineland 75g.

My 9012AC is still going strong after all these years, im sure the DC will hold up just fine.
The magnets are thick and the collection cup is offset from the back, so it works with rimmed tanks just fine.

I just purchased a Tunze DOC 9004 and it appears that bubbles comes out the bottom and seams. It don’t bother me any. The collector cup appears to be working normal as well.

The bubbles will diminish over time, the most important though is to adjust depth first and leave the air open as much as possible. Closing the air increases water flow and that forces more bubbles out due to faster movement and more pressure.

Old thread, but I have a question. What’s the noise level on the 9012 When used in a all in one tank?

If it is assembled correctly and is a new one with the new silencer, it should make nearly no noise besides some air/foaming noise.

The air silencer isn’t anywhere to be found in Canada. That’s disappointing. I bought my 9012 DC in july and it should have been on it but it wasn’t. Even more disappointing.
