Hi everyone,

I have a 40 gallon breeder, with a 40 gallon sump and initially I started with one mp40w for my tank, but after a while the wet side would seize or the drive shaft would break. After numerous troubles with the mp40w I dumped it for two tunze 6055 with controller I find that the two 6055 doesn't hit everyone like the mp40 does.

Currently I have frags but when they grow out I'm thinking I'm going to need more flow.

So my question, do you think two mp10 would be enough for my 40 breeder even when the SPS grows out?

Thanks everyone!

I dont have a video. but I can make one for you tomorrow. I have it on. The white mode, I cant remember what it isoff the top of my head, and i have them under 3/4s the way turned up. I can check the exact dot tomorrow for you as well. I am going to use these on my 75 gallon as well.

Vortechs! I have a mp40 on my 70g and it rocks! I dont like the cost, but they are worth it.

Vortech!!!! Well worth EVERY penny!!! I can tell a Huge difference in my Tank....Corals, Fish, sandbed
etc..........!!!!!

i have an mp20 (100 percent) and an mp40 (40 percent) on my 40 breeder with them at opposite ends of the tank. i like them both. i hope to never go back to another type of powerhead.

Tunze for me. Both have great customer service, but the silent Tunze is my choice. I try to stay away from the noisy stuff.

Neither... Drill the tank for a closed loop. Whisper quiet and no wires or unsightly pumps in the tank...

But if I had to make a choice I would go with Tunze. They are a high quality brand with awesome customer service. They are also super quiet which is a bonus. Both have controllers now so that isn't a big deal.

I like the Vortechs for their versatility. I have two MP10wES on my 65 gallon and they provide plenty of flow.

What percentage do you have it set at? After the recent findings regarding pump flow rate I may give the vortech another try, but this time mp10's

I have mine mostly set on nutrient export at around 100% (I vary it a bit with my controller). This makes a very nice wave. However, putting them both on at 100% (rather than in nutrient export) is quite a bit too much flow except for short periods of time.
