Tunze osmolator maintenance?

How to maintain or clean tunze Ato pump before my 3 week vacation, maybe spray eye with vinegary water?

Or... Soak pump in vinegary water?

That thing has never failed literally just leave it? Pls advice

I never do anything to my pump. It is in pure water so there is nothing to clean. I do clean the optical sensor.

The only thing I do is clean the optical sensor eye before I leave. Last year I had a 10 day vacation and the tunze stopped working basicly on the day I left. When I got back I noticed it had a thin film on the sensor, once I wiped it off everything worked. Thankfully I was able to get my mom to come by the house and add top off water.

Yep just clean the optical sensor. I have never cleaned the pump and it just works until it doesn't. I replaced the pump once on my old one that lasted about 8.5 years before the controller died and then I bought a new one. If you're going to clean/soak though use citric acid and get away from vinegar. Vinegar is not good for plastics. You can get a bag of citric acid from Amazon.
