I am having issues where the pump over fills and sets float switch off and alarm sounds. I've cleaned the sensor and it still sporadically over fill. Anyone else had this problem?

Is the tube lower than the water level in your ato container?

is it somehow getting turned on and off a lot? I have never had a problem but do hate how every time it gets turned off and on it drops a cup of water no matter what

No it has something to do with the infer-red sensor but I have cleaned it and all was good for about a couple weeks an it's starting again

When I called him he responded in a matter of minutes. Some of the best CS you can ask for.

I know know you are getting replacement but have you tried using a check valve? The one tunze supplies isn't good. I got plastic check valve from Walmart in the pet section it's about $2.

Mine just started the similar thing..optic no longer works.
Also during startup the annoying 30sec fill starts and does not stop.
TY Dowfish for the email :)

That is why I stay w/ Tunze..cs is outstanding!

What would I need a check valve for?

I had the same issue that the water would keep flowing even after the water level would reach the optical eye. I added the check valve and it stopped. This was 6 years ago and still using the tunze ATO.

I'm not sure if mine is even as long as 10 seconds. Definitely not long enough to effect the water level.

Yea same here, I just took a estimate on the time. I was just wondering where ppl were getting a 30 second time from. If that were true that could be enough water in some systems to cause a real problem

How long the pump runs on start up depends on the age of the controller, from 2002-2011 it was 20 seconds. From 2011-present it is 15 seconds. This is needed to prime the pump and start up and verify function while you are their setting it up, that is why this feature exists. It adds a cup of water at standard power if the pump is already primed. If your controller was made after Nov 2011 you can turn down the pump inside the controller if your tank is small, this is covered in the manual. At the lowest speed it will only add a half cup. On an older controller, if needed you can add a Two Little Fishies Microvalve to the end of the hose to restrict the flow and reduce how much is added.
