Tunze scraper and sand bed

Hi all - from other threads, the tunze scraper seemed to be the clear favorite. So I picked one up for my new tank. Which is going through the uglies with a lot of mess to clean up :)

The question I have is the glass near the sand bed. Now, I know the theory is that sand shouldn't get between the blade and the glass, so you're fine to dig into the sandbed. Is that what you do with your scraper?

But I wanted to confirm that's what others do / people aren't having issues? For now, mine looks like this 😂

I've done exactly what the BRS video shows and have never had issues with my scraper!
