Im looking at tunze wavemakers to go on my tank which is 19mm glass. I have seen some which are non controllable , don't quote understand what this means do I need to buy a controller for those separately? Im basically looking for the cheapest option that can fit on my glass and allow me to change flow modes still (and to be able to angle the pump which is why I'm looking at tunze to begin with ) what's the best option ? :)

I have 4 Tunze Turbelles in my tank with controllers. I have them placed so the water flow collides and creates random flow. I know controllers are popular but I dont see the need.

Controllable means that you can adjust the speed up or down as you wish, they usually offer different flow patters such as ocean swell or wave patters etc... They usually have an app for your phone and you can control the powerhead from your phone.

Non-controllable means you plug the power cord in the wall and the propeller starts spinning and thats it.

I have 4 aquariums at home, only 1 runs with controllable wave makers, they are a nice toy to play with but absolutely not needed.

Thanks for clearing that up ! It seems that the non controllable pumps have stronger magnets for some reason allowing to be fixed on glass up to 25 mm. Its more for a dead spot on my tank that is going to be fairly close to the power head , I'm not sure having 100 percent constant flow directly on my corals from close range is going to please them unfortunately so I might have to put my hand in my pocket for a controllable one. Annoyingly I would have to buy one of the biggest pumps to be able to fit on my glass to just run it at the speed of a pump half the size and price :/
