My tux decided to scale my heater today, and is directly at the surface of the water, part of it sticking out of the water actually.

Is this normal behavior for a tuxedo urchin, or a sign of some sort of distress? Also ditched the wad of gracileria and bryopsis it has been lugging around.

long as he is not floating..lol,yes is fine just wandering around ;)

Good to know, I had never seen it do this before. It usually prefers to sit on my beautiful rock and chew on coralline all day.
Thanks.

my urchins occasionally hang out at the water line ... starfish do it to. they are likely skimming organics off the surface.
