I'm just coming out of a 2 year break. The old system had to be torn down when we sold the house and moved. Here is a link to the old 250g WAMAS-> Previous TOTM

The new tank will be an SPS dominated nano, 12g/45.5 litres (36"x8.5"x9.5" or 900x210x240).

Tank
Mr Aqua MA-730

Lighting
T5 2x39w - not sure what combo yet. I ordered 4 bulbs to mess with and see which looks best.

Sump
20g AGA tank

Skimmer
Old DIY pile of crap - I'm trying to convince the guys at Avast Marine Works to design a nano skimmer for me to 'test for them' :D

Reactors
Kalk and bio pellet - both by Avast Marine Works

Top off
ATO - Avast Marine Works

Flow
Return: Maxijet 1200. In tank: Tunze 6055 (will be Vortec MP 10 when I can sell some old equipment)

I built a fake sand bed and drilled the tank.

The larger 36"x36" one is for a friend's tank.

Added some wood trim to cover the base of the fake sandbed. The black crap all over the sand is carbon. The bag I tossed in the sump ended up right in front of a powerhead. The flow was too much, and ground it to fine powder.

After (the flash makes the paint look off, but you cant tell in person):

I was running ATI Aquablue Special and ATI Actinic T5s, but I added a third bulb. I added the Giesmann Pure Actinic. I have never run only T5s before. I'm surprised that the tank is not overloaded in blue.

Added the fish guard to prevent the little guys from going carpet surfing.

Cool tank, I love the dimensions of those. I don't think I have seen one drilled yet. Any sump shots?

Rik,

Where did you find the stand for your mr aqua tank? looking to get one and having trouble locating a nice stand.

It's a standard kitchen wall cabinet. The top is cavity that had to be filled in. I just used the shelving it came with to fill the void and make the top flat. It is exactly 36" wide.

Thanks for the support. I now have a boat load of SPS frags mounted in the tank. Now it's time to just wait and watch them grow. The only things I'm thinking about changing are the lights (to LED from T5) and flow (MP10 over the Tunze thats in there now).
