Are there different types of Green Star Polyps? Mine seems to be fairly different from the commonly seen type. Thanks!

I think there are different variations. For example there are ones like yours, and then there are ones that have a white mouth as opposed to all green.

Yeah, I feel like all I ever see is the type with white mouths. I had been starting to wonder what the world mine was o_O

There are green star polyps in three different families.
Most common is Pachyclavularia violacea and i beleive it is the one on these pictures.
It hase a violet base that sticks very hard on the surface on stones.
Briaerum stechei is a gorgonia with a light brown base that is possible to rip off from the stones. Often it forms arm sike 3/4 of a tube. It has a strong glowing green color.
The third one is Erythropodium caribaeorum. It has thinner polyps, in Germany they call it "ape hair" It is often gold brown but there is a green morph too. When it survives it often grow very fast in strings on the surface, i believe a few inches a week. It is almost impossible to rip of from stones.
All three of them have different color morphs.
When i have the Briaerum in a selling tank it is impossible to sell the other two.

Old topic but wanted to share mine as well, since I was looking for a name.

I saw 3 polyp that was attached to a coral (honestly I was more interested in that gsp than the other coral).

It grew for a while now and the body is nearly full green but light green, towards blue. I find it very interesting

This is two different types of gsp in my picture. One grows faster and the other sllloooowwww. The line green is super aggressive space taker. And the lime green one I have is a branching gsp.
