Quick update if anyone is still out there lol
After increasing the flow a little bit, he's been so happy :) although, he only fully extends about .5"

I can't imagine how long it's going to stay shut after it's fragged hahahaha

I got my toadstool about a year ago about 2" in diameter. I put him up high about 6-8" from the top of the tank and he LOVES it there with lots of flow. In the one year it has grown to the size of a softball and it's open and colorful every day. They live light and random flow.
