Just wondering if anyone near or in Santa Barbra is using the Salt water Tap at USCB ? If so what where or are the results of using it... It it a good idea to use it for the reef tank?

I didn’t know that Santa Barbara had a tap. In San Diego the Scripps Institute has a tap that gets lots of use, even commercial trucks show up to get free water for research and grow out and aquarium services. Mixed results are reported and the smart users know not to use the tap following a rain storm.

The alkalinity needs to be adjusted otherwise the only frequent complaints are that the water is green, which is a natural thing for California waters
