Hi there,

One of my clowns has a few white bumps up by his mouth/gills (see pics). They are raised up quite a bit. He also has stringy poop. He is eating really well and seems to be content, but clearly there is something wrong. Can anyone identify what is this is, and any possible treatment?

Thanks,
Scott

You could do a FW dip to ensure that flukes aren’t starting a bacterial infection. I don’t necessarily think you have flukes but it wouldn’t hurt to check. If flukes are not present I would start with a 90 min Ruby Reef Rally bath. I don’t think this is lympho either as it doesn’t appear cottony, etc.
white stringy poop is internal parasites and can be treated with a 1:1 ratio of. Metro and focus laced food fed for 14 days.

Could be bacterial (clownfish pimples), or maybe the start of brook :/

How long have you had him? Was he QT’d?

Edit. I’m leaning towards the clownfish pimples, but just want to be careful as brook can be easily mis-diagnosed in early stages.

If you can catch him... I agree that a 90-minute bath in acriflavine would be helpful! I had a clown develop similar and ruby reef rally removed 90% of it, the rest cleared up on its own.
