Ive been looking for a pistol shrimp for a while, and my lfs finally got some in yesterday. When I went down to get one today, they said it was a tiger pistol shrimp. After taking a closer look, it definitely isn’t. It’s completely clear and has a slender body. I got it with the intention of putting it with my Randall’s goby, but I’m worried that it either won’t pair up with it or will try to eat other stuff. Does anyone have any information on it? I’ll try to post a picture in a bit once I can get a good one.

Are you sure that's even a pistol? I don't see a snapping claw.

Can you get a picture of it in a container, top-down?

I have no idea what type of shrimp that is. It might be pale from stress, which would mess with the colors. I would put it in a decent-sized container, maybe with a pump for circulation, and give it a spot to hide.

It has a snapping claw, it’s just hard to see. Here’s a top down photo. I think I’m gonna stick it in a bucket for now and see if I can find anything else out before putting it in the tank. Thanks again

I believe I have identified it as alpheus heterochaelis. Looks like it’s going back to the lfs tomorrow. Thanks for the help guys, hopefully I can find a tiger or candy stripe soon here.
