Wow that’s crazy! I’m shocked it survived the decompression from that depth then the switch to very bright aquarium lights! These are very cool; I’ve never seen orange ones before, only the kinda bland yellow polyps that are mostly brownish under regular blue lighting
I’m surprised too! I was actually buying copepods from him and spotted this piece in his frag tank, he sold it to me for $60, under blue lighting only they turn black, and in a mix of blue and white, they are a really pretty rusty red color.

Parazoanthus gracilis
From what I’ve learned so far, I believe Parazoanthus Gracilis is yellow, mine is rusty red, and has branched during my care, I have it placed on the rock so you can’t see the branches on the other side haha it hasn’t tried encrusting on the rock, and is freely placed on top. I wanted it to anchor itself but so far hasn’t.

This species also coincides with it being from Mexico and deep water! Mine has adjusted to my reef water temperatures, and polyps nicely at 78 degrees

Beauty! I’d buy some if it ever gets fraggable. I have a great biotope for it :)
I placed it on a dead gorgonian skeleton and it started growing on the branches!! Going to be able to get some fraggable pieces in the future now that I’ve learned how to propagate it :D
