Unknown Coral

I just caught the unknown coral eating a bloodworm and snapped a pic. This is also the most open I’ve caught the colony as a whole open during the day and it’s because of feeding.

I honestly believe it’s a Montastraea cavernosa and the person I got it from was wrong about Australia but that’s my opinion as of now until I find another possible candidate that matches down to the colors like this one does.

Caught a photo last night of the Mystery coral Open. I’m definitely more and more positive it’s the Caribbean species Montesterea Cavernosa!

dang, it really does look like that! thought it was maybe still adjusting, but it looks great!
but I agree, it definitely looks like that species

The coral has grown so very fast and beautifully I believe it’s time to frag it so I can get it positioned better so it can take over a larger surface area so I believe I will have 2 frags available for trade if anyone is into collecting the rarest of the rarest stuff. I collect zoas Mushrooms and gonioporas and I’m hunting for a USM or Dayglo zoa and any nice OG bounce or other rare bounces. If you have anything rare I’ll gladly take a look.

This is an awesome thread. How is the coral doing? Did you end up fragging it?
