Unknown Hitchhiker

Hi all, this is actually my first post (I really appreciate the information and community on here!) and I hate to make it an ID request, but I got some FL liverock (from both KP and TBLR) and it's hanging out in a QT tank for now. A few days ago I noticed this odd tongue-like creature poking out from my powerhead and I'm struggling to figure out what it is. It appears to extend polyp-like things and at other times they are retracted. I appreciate any help ID'ing this thing!

So it doesn't move, other than to open or close?

I am inclined to say bivalve.

I would just reach out to TBLR and ask their opinion.

Thanks for the response! It's very odd and yes, it seems happy where it's at, no other movement other than extending it's whatever they are lol. That's a good idea to reach out to them. I checked their hitchhiker section on the website and didn't notice a match.

I'm late, but any updates on this? If not, with that many tentacle-esque appendages sticking, I would assume it's either an anemone or a coral of some kind (leaning toward an anemone).

It turned out to be some type of bivalve. It left behind a nearly translucent shell (sadly it didn't make it). I'm still not sure exactly what the ID is.

I would have thought anemone. Funky!
