I bought a couple of corals (picture attached) from SBB Corals auction recently. None of them have actual names but this seems to be a common theme through this hobby.

Is there a reason for this? Are some corals simply left unnamed because they don’t pop up in the hobby often?

It’s common because when you think it’s a new morph, it has a name already so people tend to wait until they can see places like WWC selling a piece like it and then they join the wagon of selling it under that name.

Also, LFSs don’t always partake in the name game because customers will sometimes view it as that coral is worth less than its being sold for (when in reality, most of the time if an LFS does the name game the overall price doesn’t change, just what it’s sold as).
