My first build thread. This all started about 9 months ago with an IM 15g AIO to test out reefing again. The last time I had a reef was a long time ago in highschool. LEDs were brand new to the aquarium trade and I remember buying Cree pucks that I had to drill and tap into a heatsink and solder everything together.

Almost 2 decades later, I'm diving back in a little smarter and a little richer. This UNS 90L was a failing high tech planted tank before I had the good idea to consolidate down to one tank and go all in on this reef. I did the tank transfer about 5 days ago so things are still settling in and the aquascape is still being worked on. I love the biodiversity of reefs, it's truly a different world.

Last shot of the 15g before I did the transfer. It was getting a little cramped.

Equipment:
  • UNS 90L
  • Fluval 307
  • Jebao MOW-3
  • Penn Heater Controller
  • Chihiros Pro Inline Heater
  • Reefbreeder ATO
  • Chihiros Autodoser
  • AIPAI A7 III Light
Dosing
  • All For Reef
  • Nitrates
  • Phosphates
  • Chaetogro
  • When needed: Calc, Mag, phyto, pods
Right now the plan is to add a second light, try out a different wave maker, get the aquascape the way I want it, and let it settle in.

Awesome-looking tank! Thanks for sharing!

Following along. I’m looking at UNS setups for my first reef tank

Really clean build

Well Dinos are back. Must've been the transfer that did it. I dealt with dino about 4 months ago when it was in the 15 gallon tank. I believe the cause was low N/P. My N/P isn't the problem right now:

Mag 1140
Calc 410
Alk 8.3
Phosphate 0.08
Nitrate 12.9

Looks like Ostreopsis. Can someone confirm? I will throw in a hygger 3W UV lamp in the display which is what I did last time. Not sure if its big enough for this tank. Edit: I have a green killing machine 9w coming tomorrow.
