I got called today from the freight company that will be delivering my UNS R90 tomorrow. She said it would be an 18 wheeler and asked if I had a way to get it from the road to my house. I have a long driveway, it’s flat and level, but it is long. She said they would set it off the back of the truck and make sure it’s not in the road. She asked if I had a way to get it to my house, which I will, but not until my husband gets home the following day.

Does this sound right to those of you who have had deliveries already? The way she spoke, indicated that I wouldn’t have time to remove the plastic and inspect the package for damage before they left. We’re also expecting storms tomorrow, so I was hoping to have it set under my carport.

Freight companies are not movers, they may do you a favor but that is a double edged sword, if they break it doing beyond what they are contracted then you have a mess to deal with.

They will likely have a pallet jack and can move it where the wheels can go as long as it is not steep and it is paved.

Be prepared to give them a cash tip, no matter what for safe delivery, and more if they move it to shelter for you. $20 a head or more. If it is a single person $20 - $40 is reasonable.

Thank you! I guess I just assumed they’d use a pup truck which is how our furniture and appliances are normally delivered. I don’t think I’ve ever seen an 18 wheeler on our two lane country road since I’ve lived here - lol. My other deliveries have always been brought to the house and I’ve tipped them to set the items under my carport.

Standard freight is curbside. To add to the email reply we sent you earlier, the system shiped as one pallet, wrapped with protective film. This should help keep out the rain. From there you'll be able to separate the tank and stand in to two crates for easier transportation .

In your case, the vendor booked the freight shipment so you'll defnitely want to reach out to them if you have any questions about upgraded delivery options.

I would recommend Buse Plant, Top Shelf Aquatics, or even Bulk Reef Supply. They won’t have them in stock but they should be able to order it for you.

As Brandon said above, they will be restocked in August. I would see if one of the above can go ahead and get an order placed for you.
