UNS emergency drain length?

Hello everyone.

I finally got my emergency drain pipe today (was missing when I bought the tank new). However, it does not appear cut to length where I can drop it in. The pipe will not go in anymore into the bottom hole of the overflow and as you can see, is sticking out majorly. How much should I remove from this pipe?
