Hey! Love the build. Just got my R150 and excited to setup today. Curious about how you mounted your 6 port surge protector . Did you drill into the material or sticky tape? Thanks!
Velcro sticky tape incase I ever need to pull em out, best of luck with your setup!

Sticky tape worked great!! Transferring everything over from the little brother. Waiting on my 75GPD RODI to make the remaining 70gallons

Took me an entire weekend to make the water last week, got impatient at the end and grabbed 10g RODI from my LFS to save me a few more hours.

I like how you got the inkbird on the front control panel I’m going to see if I can figure that out. The big double outlet wouldn’t fit through the holes in the front did you just slip it under?

On the last 30gallons or so and I’m thinking I’m gonna go grab it from my LFS aswell…

Yeah I really wanted it through that center hole but like you said plug dint fit so I slipped it under and have the heaters plugged in on the shelf. Due to how low the inkbird is you can’t see cable running down the bottom so I’m happy with it. the double outlet didn’t fit cleanly through the bottom either though. Needed a bit of a push through but the cabinet has enough flex that a little muscle gets it in no problem .

Please give a detailed view, videos, and opinion on the ReefMat and adapter. I just ordered the adapter today.
yeah i’m a little confused what this adapter does? where does it go relative to the reefmat

i have a 500 in a trigger crystal 36 sump and barely fits. partly because of sock holders on the back. also the lip on the top of the sump makes hanging tough plus the pvc plumbing on the inlet takes up space

I wonder if reaching out to UNS for advice would help? Or Buce plant?

Ty for sharing, so happy to have this with my other controls now!

It’s a 3D printed box that sits right in front of the return that is flowing into the section where the socks are. Essentially it directs the water straight down into a roughly 1 1/2 pipe that you connect to the piping that Redsea provides which flows into the Reefmat.

I’ll update when I install but it’s going to be several weeks until I start getting a bit ugly, I’m trying to purposely build up some nutrients and waste to get things moving.

Hey! You use the thread of the ReefMat on the inside of the box to attach the funnel directly to the mail thread. The Roller mat and Adapter both sit on the rim of the sump in the first chamber. Take a look at the pictures attached.

Thanks so much! My adaptor arrived today. Those pictures help. So I am assuming the water draining down flows in to the adaptor opening? Do the filter socks and such remove easily to replace them with the roller? Do you have to cut out anything?

Yes just kind of slip on … Everybody complains its loud and as a temporary solution they suggest to put a sponge inside… I’m a bit far away from installing it, but will probably do a different 3D printed part to reduce splashing..

Yeah I had heard of possible noise complaints using the adapter, which part of the build for uns is taking pride in trying to make everything quiet. I suppose adding a sponge or prefilter material if you will, wouldn’t be all that bad if it keeps it quieter. Also might make the roller media last longer.

My whole idea of having roller is to reduce maintenance time (apart from nutriens) … so having an extra piece to be cleaned all the time is not ideal. Anyway today lights are going to be mounted so I might level up aquarium and start filling it, so will have a better understanding of how noisy it is

I previously bought this one but will be returning for that new adapter! Looks much easier I was stressing how I was going to connect the corrugated tubing to the adapter, didn’t want to start gluing them together.

Been a while, finally have two fish in and got my first corals yesterday. I was surprised to see them open right away after looking pretty grim in the bags from the LFS.

Fish:

Clown 1x (other didn’t make it in QT)
Fairy Wrasse

Coral:

- GSP
- Zoa
- Mushroom
- Candy Cane

LFS hooked me up, said to take a shot w the Candy Cane for $10 to see how the LPS does in the new system.

Awesome to see some life in there! So to hear about the other clown.

Added 4 more frags this weekend, they are doing way better than I could’ve ever expected.

Alk at 8.0 now that I switched to Redsea blue bucket, doing 16g water changes weekly (third one so far).

Added:

- Favia
- Duncan
- Yellow Zoas
- Unknown pink coral, LFS called it a Bankie or Binkie? Said it’s similar to an Acan.

Also added a red fire shrimp, he’s hanging out eating day one.

I’ve got a phantom clown in QT, couple more weeks of observation.
