A month ago I started to notice recurring salt creep in the same spots on a seam of an old Red Sea Max 250. I bought it used and I had it up and running for about 10 months. After cleaning the salt up and watching it come back within a few days I got concerned. I taped paper towels to the spots and saw they were picking up some moisture so I decided. New Tank Time. I didn't want to wait around to figure out where the water was coming from. Especially with all of the horror stories online of tank seams splitting.

I feverishly scoured the Internet for available new tanks to replace my system ASAP. Waterbox and IM were on the list but out of stock on the options I wanted and delivery pushed out a few months. I decided I didn't want to wait. I came across the UNS Reef tank system. Saw a video of the R90 which I immediately loved and it fit the spot I have in my house. Pulled the trigger and received the tank exactly 7 days later. Big Shout out to @UNS_Parker for helping me through the setup process. I saw him involved in helping other reefers with questions about the tank and reached out to him on IG for help. He was very responsive and helpful with all of my questions.

Once I received the tank, I leak checked it overnight to verify the system was holding water as it should, and all of the plumbing was solid. The next day i started the process of removing everything out of the old tank so I could set up the new system in the same spot. The set up and plumbing was a breeze. Getting everything out of the old tank and putting it all back in the new one was another story. After the complete system transfer it looks like the only 2 corals that wont pull through are a red dragon acro frag and a rasta torch.

Thank you dude hopefully only better from here
I think so!

I was just looking at a video today of one of these systems and it's really nice.
The occupants look great, the rockwork well...works, and the lighting seems to be not to little, nor too much.

I think it's going to do well.

So sorry to hear about your tank situation. Having said that, what an amazing upgrade!

Tank looks great!

I have the same setup, some of the same equipment, I think you will be happy with your choice. I even have similar sea creatures, White Tail Tang, pair of clowns, pistol shrimp..my tank just needs to mature a bit.

@Sharbuckles Reef

So I’ve had a few setbacks. But moving forward now. I added a lid from top lids which is a great lid but chose the black mesh and due to my lighting being a center mount and the lid having a large band of polycarbonate in the middle the lighting was changed too much and I lost a few corals down the middle of my tank that had been growing really well. I ended up replacing the black mesh with the clear to get more light even though I had my AP9X cranked way up to try and make up the difference.

My anemones moved up and towards the center of the tank and after losing a walt disney and oregon tort frag which were my favorites I decided to remove them all. So no more anemones. Sorry Clownfish. I also removed my white tail as she was getting bigger than the rest of the fish and more aggressive. Keeping everyone in the rocks. I had to redo rockwork after taking a bunch out to remove her.

I have added a few new fish. A royal gramma and a yasha goby to pair with my pistol shrimp. It’s been fun watching those two work together. I also added a black leopard wrasse as well.

Glad your tank is doing good! The lid looks great on your tank!

I’ll have to follow along. We have the same reef vision!

Thanks for the update. Sorry to hear about losing the WD.

Also I totally agree with no anemones, they always end up being a pain in the butt!

I like them a lot and have been debating getting a carpet nem. You have any experience with them? Worried if i put it on the sand it will just move up as well. In a 62 gallon the tank was just too small to have multiple nems and trying to keep some higher end sps.

I actually have a maxi mini carpet in my tank! I’ll take a pic later on. All carpets can and will eat fish, don’t forget that.
