Well here we have it,

My 7 month old first reef tank.
Quite the humbling experience coming from aquascaping and going through many freshwater fish tanks for years!

I started getting over the learning curve about 4 months in, having euphyllia receding constantly (currently cracking down on my water changes and weekly tank care) it was my humbling point.

My fish stocking list:

Starry blenny
Midas blenny (yes they get along they are like brothers)
1 chalk bass
My fire shrimp
Peppermint shrimp
Yellow sea cucumber
4~ hermits mixed species
Mexican turbos
Ninja star snails

Added yesterday: tube anemone, yasha goby (his pistol died in shipping )

As for Coral, as you can see my GSP took off unsurprisingly, kenya tree has quadrupled and is looking nice and tree-y, toadstool has done well, and my acan I added a couple months ago has done fairly well for itself, I even have a healthy rainbow chalice slowly growing. I also have a ricordea growing on the right.

However my euphyllia are not doing as well, over the first couple months they slowly receded, and their flesh band is now alarmingly small, however recently I have made more strict changes on my tank routine to try to get them to recover. They have seemingly stopping dying and are now resting on the frag rack on the left.

You may have already received this feedback, but euphyllia tend to like high magnesium. If you don't test already it may be worth checking your magnesium levels.

Nice tank! I love the chalk bass.

Thank you,

I have tested the magnesium, I have hanna checkers( not a fan so far for the mag and calc checkers) I was trying to keep it around 1400 ppm throughout 6 months. Do they consume that much magnesium? I know they need calcium dosing and Alk which I've kept around 8, granted I've let it drop to 6.5 from time to time but like I said im going to keep up with it more
