Update** Adding another 210 gallon in wall display tank in a soon to be full fish room, hopefully with a viewing window in the new fish room bathroom!!

Atomic helped me immensely with the design and execution of this system. All while finishing up his monster 800+g build. Thank you for all that you have done for me sir!

Below you can see a couple before (slightly after we started working on it actually) and after pictures of my mini fish room.

We have a 50(?)g wet/dry sump and a 30g fuge/frag tank in my small maintenance room in my basement, with the 220g display tank on my main floor in the living room.

Planning on installing an ato and a skimmer at some point in the near future.

Tell me what you all think about my aqua-scape as I am not very innovative when it comes to design work. I have what I believe to be a decent amount of prime coral real-estate with an ascetically pleasing rock structure. Or at least I hope that’s the case.

Everything is settling in and doing well. I am installing a UV filter today and changing the way I have the fuge and sump plumbed to try to increase my turnover in the DT. Currently the water is pumped into a splitter that supplies water to the fuge and the DT, with the overflow going to the sump. I am going to redirect one overflow pipe to the fuge and have the pump go directly to the DT.

Could you show how you plumbed to your basement?
This is the best photo of it that I have on my phone right now. Have the two overflows from the DT split, one suppling the fuge/frag tank, and one going to the sump (on the floor, pic cuts it off). Overflow from fuge to sump. Then the pump is next to the sump pumping it all back upstairs, through the UV filter.

I have been enjoying this tank for well over a year now, and it’s time to really step it up. When I originally set up this system, I did not plan on expansion but like many others before me, I want more!

i have recently purchased two more tanks. A 210, and a 4’x2’ low boy frag tank. I’m going to be moving my “fish room” which is currently in a closet under the stairs in my basement. I am going to be building a dedicated fish room and installing the new 210 as an in wall tank.

This will all be in addition to the 220 reef tank that is running upstairs in my living room. We will be tying all of this together. When all is said and done, we will be at ~700 gallons.

I recently had an idea that I wanted to move the bathroom to the other side of the tank. I wanted to do this bc I want to have a viewing window in the wall of the bathroom. The front panel of the 210 will be viewable from outside of the fish room, and one side panel will be viewable from the bathroom. Once full of water, you should not be able to see through the corner of the tank because of the reflection, but just in case we could always put up some sort of curtain or something to be able to block the view.

Does anyone have any insight or tips on how to accomplish this better?

New draft, viewing panel in the bathroom. Room next to the main display for another tank (maybe a seahorse tank) down the road. I think this layout is nicer for aesthetics, and allows for expansion. And we all know how important that is!
I’m starting to get a bit antsy, ready to get the work started. The plumber is supposed to be stopping by early this week.
