Good Evening everyone.... Yes it is time for a another build thread. I'm posting this more for suggestions as I am very torn on certain parts of this build. I know this is not fair to them but I couldn't let them rot in the tanks they were in as they were being neglected and I have been itching for an upgrade. The system is going to be sps dominated. Lets get into the equipment list...

Tank
Planet Aquarium 60x30x25.5
Euro Braced with Ghost overflows
Sump- Using current sump with H380 in refugium- its roughly holds 45 gallons of water with 20 being fuge
Lights- Currently have 1 24 8 bulb ATI Hybrid- Either add a second 24" or buy a 60"- Thoughts?
Rock- All live rock some has been killed off for a while and roughly 80 pounds in current system- I'll be curing the remainder starting this week
Flow- Two Maxspec Gyres 6000 gph- two mp40s and 1 mp60- these are all pumps i have laying around
Return- COR20
Controller- New Apex
ATO- Apex ATK
Skimmer- Vertex 180 to start and see if i need to upgrade or if it will do what i need with the fuge
Now i'm torn on the next part- Do I do two DOS and run the triton method or do I do a calcium reactor and go from there.... I'm leaning more towards a calcium reactor just because of the amount of dosing the will eventually be required by all sps and also the fact that this is only going to be up and running for about a year before i go to a bigger system when we build our next house. If i go calcium reactor is it worth the money to go Dastaco or stay with a GEO and carbon doser. I had issues dialing in my last GEO but that was my fault and not the reactors fault but I am very interested in hearing feed back on the Dastaco reactors. If it is truly as easy to tune then its a no brainer for me but if its not much different then dialing in a GEO then i'm going to be torn. I'm also considering the DOS cause i like having it ran by the apex but then there is the fact that if everything is ran by the APEX then what happens when the apex fails?..... Stressful
Anyways this is the start of it and I am very open to feedback, especially on reactors and lights

Looks like a good good plan. I am just cycling my new tank of similar dimensions. I have decided on bare bottom and a long cycle for the rock. I am 60x36x27, and am going with my 6x80w and a 4x80w hybrid as it's such a wide tank. I think you would benefit from the 60" fixture as you would lose some in the middle with the two 24" fixtures.

Sooo.... I sold the 24 inch fixture but the buyer needed it quick so I’m running the 60” on the cube.... looks odd but on the bright side it showed the wife how big the new tank is. She’s currently packing her bags. I’m gonna go help.
