Hi everyone happy reefing.
So we’re finally starting our upgrade projects we currently have a 180 mixed reef that has a 55 gallon sump/ refugium underneath with 20 gallons dedicated to the refugium. (not enough right) [emoji848] but it’s worked for a long time. Also a 170 fish only tank.
So today we started the new cabinet that will accommodate our 125 gallon sump that will have roughly 50 gallons dedicated to the refugium. My mandarin dragonet is one of my favorites so that being said I want his food supply to be abundant. Plus some of our corals seem to love them also. I will take before and after shots of corse but yesterday started the stand and my son and I think it’s coming along great. After we complete this stand swap, we are going to start our 420 gallon plywood build for the fish only tank. I cant wait for that one.

I bet. Looks like your putting them to work and making them earn it. Free but not so free labor. :);):);)

You got it.
What option did you end up going with for your sump?
I’ve designed one that works great for our 180 only reason I’m going bigger is for the refugium for pods and cheato. I’ll post the new one when it’s finished.

Progress from the past couple days
Also today he is 10 so for sure I had to put a present inside the project we’ve been doing together [emoji6]
But this weekend will be the big transfer not looking forward to the backbreaking part but the outcome should be rewarding [emoji6]

Today we have almost finished our stand. Only a couple outlet covers to seal in place and complete. A few times sanding and 3 coats of stain now no more rough spots it’s smooth as glass and momma approves so I guess we did it right.
Funny my son and I were finishing with the touch up and wiping everything down when she came into the garage and asked where we went and bought it. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
