Hi, I'm new to reef keeping and reef2reef. So I want advice on how I can upgrade my filter for my 5 gallon tank please.

what do you have currently, what are you upgrading from?

The main bio filtration is with the rocks and flow.

Mechanical and chemical filtration can easily be replaced by weekly water changes, no real need to spend money. If you have a hob filter lying around, it never hurts to add it, but for such a small tank, no need to spend money, time or effort, just change out 2-3 gallons every week.
