Hey everyone

I've been in the hobby for the last few months
And id want to upgrade my tank
i have know a 10 gallon tank with inner sump but im not happy with it - the inner sump looks terrible, takes a lot of volume and the tank is small anyway so it doesnt give me much choices. Plus, the aquarium constantly has swings in parameters since its so small.

So my vision is to stay in the nano area but in a larger volume. maybe something like 40-50 gallons. just so i could have the sump separated and a couple more fish i could add (and more space for special corals ofc)

So my question is - what are your recommendations? what aquarium companies are reliable and have decent prices?
My budget is somewhere between 500-1000 dollars. are there any nanos you know that are in this price area? or only used ones?

thanks a lot in advance.

meanwhile check out my current tank:

Are you wanting a drilled tank with a separate sump rather than an All-in-one like your 10 gallon?

Rimmed (frame) or rimless?

Glass or acrylic?

You need to look where you are and find out who is getting out of the hobby and often they will be able to give you a good price on there old system.
Problem is, i dont want to buy a lousy aquarium that would break a year later. I want something sustainable

You know how to shop?

I have a very large tank that came with lots and lots of extras because I found a similar situation. I set up a fish tank for my wife, she wanted a-20 and got-100gallons, stand, filter, sump, pumps.,, z

what do you mean buy how to shop? is there a way you could tell if the aquarium is actually worth the price?

I pulled my last aquarium out of a dumpster... It had obviously been in a fire. I resealed and leak tested it for a month before I brought it inside.

If you check the tank (especially if it's currently running) you'll be able to see what you're getting. Similar to a used car.
